Spencers Ladder – Peter Walker

Salvaged from the foreshore of Port Germein in South Australia, this timber was submerged in the waters of Spencer’s Gulf, partially concealed in the tidal mud. In a previous life it was most likely part of the Port Germein jetty – completed in 1881, this structure was at the time the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere.
